Red Lake, Ontario – The Red Lake Miners are pleased to announce the signing of talented forward Ty Genik. Hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba, the 2005 born Genik brings an impressive record of success and a strong desire to contribute to the team’s achievements.
Genik’s notable accomplishments include winning back-to-back Manitoba U18 AAA Championships with the Winnipeg Wild.
When asked about joining the team, Genik expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity. “When I got the call from Coach Stone, he sounded passionate about his team and their craving for success. My past teammates and current (Miners) players also reached out to me about their positive experiences and encouraged me to not miss out on this opportunity,” said Genik.
Eager to make an impact, Genik has set ambitious goals for himself. “My goal is to quickly adjust to the speed and caliber of the SIJHL and to get better every day,” he added. Looking ahead, Genik aspires to have a successful junior career that could potentially lead to playing college or university hockey.
Head Coach Lee Stone expressed his excitement about the newest addition to the team. “Ty is a leader and proven winner. A big body that has good touch around the net,” said Stone. He also highlighted the value of Genik’s experience in a winning culture, which will undoubtedly benefit both the player and the Miners program. Stone believes that Genik’s understanding of what it takes to win will make him a player who leads by example.
