Miners Acquire Cerone from Melville

Red Lake, Ontario – The Red Lake Miners announced the acquisition of talented forward Ethan Cerone from the Melville Millionaires of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League today.

Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Cerone is no stranger to success on the ice. During the 2022-23 season, he played alongside current Miners forward Noah Tenney, and together, they proved to be a formidable duo. Cerone showcased his prowess with an impressive performance of 9 goals, 11 assists, and a total of 20 points in 38 games played. This outstanding display of talent caught the attention of the Miners’ management, who have been closely monitoring Cerone’s progress since the summer.

Expressing his excitement about the new opportunity, Cerone stated, “I really want to take that next step in my development and move to the next level.” The young forward is eager to meet his new teammates and is thrilled at the prospect of competing for a team that has their sights set on a league championship. Cerone emphasized that fans can expect “a hardworking and competitive player who will go above and beyond to help our team get W’s.”

Miners’ Head Coach and General Manager, Lee Stone, spoke highly of the new addition, stating, “Ethan is someone we have had our eye on since the summer time. When he became available from Melville, it really was a no-brainer for us.” Stone believes Cerone’s arrival will significantly enhance the team’s offense, both at even strength and on the power play. The Miners are thrilled to welcome Ethan to their family and eagerly anticipate getting him into the Black and Yellow.
