Red Lake, Ontario – The Red Lake Miners, a proud member of the Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL), are pleased to announce the signing of talented goaltender Noah Davis. Hailing from Calgary, Alberta, Davis brings a wealth of skill and a high level u-18 pedigree to the team.
Over the past two seasons, Davis has showcased his exceptional abilities as a member of the Edge School’s u-18 prep program. His tenure with the school was marked by an extraordinary achievement, winning the 2023 CSSHL U18 Championship. Davis’s remarkable performance included an impressive 34-4-1 record, with a remarkable 1.98 goals against average (GAA), and a .923 save percentage (SP), along with five shutouts.
Prior to joining the Red Lake Miners, Davis started the 2023-24 season in the AJHL, playing for the Blackfalds Bulldogs and the Lloydminster Bobcats.
In Davis’s own words, “I am excited to join a hot team with a great group of guys that want to win!” He continue by keeping his short term goals short saying, “I want to win my first game right now; but in the future, I aspire to play Division 1 Hockey and eventually play professionally!” When asked to describe what Miners fans can expect, he said “a calm and collected goaltender who plays a fast and aggressive style!”
Miners Head Coach and General Manager Lee Stone expressed his confidence in Davis, stating, “Noah is a winner through and through. His success at the highest level of u-18 Hockey in the CSSHL speaks for itself, and he comes from a highly regarded program at the Edge School. He fully understands what it takes to be a Hockey player.” Stone believes that Davis will make an immediate impact as a first-year player in the SIJHL, with the potential to be a true game-changer for the team.
The Red Lake Miners and their faithful supporters eagerly anticipate the upcoming season, with high hopes of achieving another championship victory. Davis shares this ambition, stating, “A successful Miners season would be to win the Bill Salonen Cup and show our game at the Centennial Cup!”
The Red Lake Miners organization extends a warm welcome to Noah Davis and wishes him every success in his journey with the team.
