Corbett’s Hat Trick Leads Miners In Game 3 Victory

Aiden Corbett led the Red Lake Miners offence with 3 power play goals in a 5 -4 win to give the Miners a 3-0 series lead over the Dryden Ice Dogs.

Dryden got on the board first on Max Roby’s short handed goal at 9:05 of the first period. The Ice Dogs extended their lead to 2-0 37 seconds into the second period on a power play tally from Eli Antoine.

Ryker Watt scored his 3rd of the playoffs on the power play at 2:11 of the second to cut the lead in half. Aiden Corbett’s first of the night at 5:42 tied the game at 2.

Caron Devine scored his second of the post season at 9:02 of the second put the Ice Dogs back in the lead before Noah Tenney scored his first of the playoffs at 18:11 to tie the game up at 3. The tie was short lived as Max Roby scored his second of the night at 19:41 to give the Ice Dogs a 1 goal lead after 40 minutes of play.

The third period belonged to the Miners and Aiden Corbett.   Corbett would tie the game at 4 with a power play tally at 10:34 before  he scored his 3rd of the night at 17:28 to put the Miners up by 1.  With Lynch on the bench for the final minute the Ice Dogs were unable to capitalize with the extra attacker and the Miners held on for a 5-4 win.
