Week 2: Three Stars Named

The Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL) has named it Three Stars for week 2 of regular season play:

FIRST STAR ⭐️

CARTER PODDUBNY, KAM RIVER FIGHTING WALLEYE
GP: 2 ⋅ G: 3 ⋅ A: 3 ⋅ PTS: 6
The Thunder Bay, Ont. native put up three points in each of the two weekend games at Kenora during Kam River’s offencive explosion. After a goal and two assists on Friday, Poddubny flipped to scoring a pair and adding an assist on Saturday.

SECOND STAR ⭐️⭐️

DAXTON LANG, KAM RIVER FIGHTING WALLEYE
GP: 2 ⋅ G: 4 ⋅ A: 1 ⋅ PTS: 5
Lang was one of two players with a hat trick on Saturday in Kenora, while also contributing to a balanced-attack on Friday (1-1–2). The White City, Sask. native now has six points in the 2024-25 campaign.

THIRD STAR ⭐️⭐️⭐️

TYLER JORDAN, THUNDER BAY
GP: 2 ⋅ G: 2 ⋅ A: 4 ⋅ PTS: 0
Jordan (St. Michael, Minn.) earned two primary assists on Friday in Ironwood. He turned up the heat on Saturday, getting two more primary assists and scoring twice. Thunder Bay swept the weekend series in Ironwood to advance to 2-2-0-0 on the season.
