Red Lake Miners Announce the Signing of Defenseman Skyler Carriere

Red Lake, Ontario – The Red Lake Miners are thrilled to announce the signing of talented defenseman Skyler Carriere for the upcoming season. Hailing from Roblin, Manitoba, Carriere has displayed a strong passion for the game, making him a valuable addition to the Miners’ roster.

Carriere, born in 2005, played for the Parkland Rangers U18 AAA team over the past two seasons.      During this time, he registered 3 goals, 13 assists, accumulating a total of 16 points in 55 games. His consistent performance and defensive abilities caught the attention of the Miners.

When asked about his decision to join the Red Lake Miners, Carriere expressed his admiration for the team’s recent successes and their commitment to winning. He stated, “I chose the Red Lake Miners     because of the well-rounded team they have been in the past few years and is a team that wants to win.”

Carriere has set both short-term and long-term goals for himself in the world of hockey. “In the short term, my primary focus is to contribute to the team’s success and help us win the Bill Salonen Cup.” Looking ahead, his long-term aspirations include “earning a university commitment to continue playing the game I love and to get a degree in something as a career.” 

Lee Stone, the Red Lake Miners’ Head Coach, expressed his enthusiasm for Carriere’s signing. Stone     stated, “Skyler came onto our radar in early August, and we have been actively recruiting him ever since. As a draft pick of the Dauphin Kings, Carriere brings a steady presence to our defensive lineup and    possesses tremendous potential as an eighteen-year-old player.”
