Red Lake, Ontario – The Red Lake Miners are pleased to announce the signing of forward Quintus Mah from the High River Flyers of the HJHL. Mah, born in 2006, becomes the second Flyers player to sign with the Miners this offseason.
Mah had an impressive rookie year with the Flyers, recording 6 goals, 11 assists, and 17 points in 35 games played. His performance caught the attention of the Red Lake Miners’ coaching staff, who were impressed by his play on the ice and his maturity off the ice.
In a statement, Mah expressed his excitement about joining the Red Lake Miners and his goals for the future. “My short term goal is to get comfortable in Red Lake, get to know my teammates, and adjust to living away from home so that I can focus on being the best player I can be for the team,” he said. “My long term goal is to play college hockey in the future.”
Mah is eager to embrace the new environment and the rich history of Red Lake. “I am excited about moving to a new environment that is rich in history; getting to meet a whole new group of guys, and playing for an organization that has had success in the past,” he added.
When asked about his decision to sign with the Miners, Mah mentioned the positive impression he had of Coach Stone and the organization. “I chose to sign with the Miners after speaking to Coach Stone and getting a sense that not only will the development be good, but the culture and passion to win are also present,” he explained.
Head Coach and General Manager Lee Stone spoke highly of Mah, emphasizing his talent and potential for growth. “Quintus is a player that has been on our radar throughout the season,” Coach Stone said. “After seeing him live at the Coast 2 Coast Showcase in Calgary, it was clear he was a player we wanted in our organization. He’s a gifted skater and extremely talented, all while being responsible defensively. The potential for growth in his game is immense.”
Coach Stone is confident that Mah will make an impact on the ice. “We feel strongly about Quintus stepping in and contributing to a successful season in Red Lake. Welcome to the family, Quintus!”
