Red Lake, Ontario – The Red Lake Miners are thrilled to announce the signing of Grayden Ewing from the High River Flyers of the HJHL. Ewing, a 2006 born forward, tallied 7 goals, 12 assists, and 19 points in 30 games in his rookie season with the Flyers.
In a recent interview, Ewing shared his short-term and long-term goals, stating, “my short term goals that I have set for myself are to focus more on both my mental and physical health. As well as to savor the little moments and enjoy the experiences ahead of me.” Ewing also expressed his long-term goal of playing college hockey, which he has been working towards and will continue to pursue this season.
When asked about his excitement to join the Red Lake Miners, Ewing said, “I am most excited about seeing new things and meeting new people out in Red Lake. As well as playing for a team with a desire to work hard and win.” Ewing’s decision to sign with the Miners was influenced by his desire to play for a team that aligns with his style of hockey. He mentioned that after having conversations with the coaching staff, he knew it was a great fit for him and an exciting opportunity.
Describing himself as a two-way forward, Ewing emphasized his hard work on both sides of the puck, winning battles where they matter the most. He plays a tough game and always stands up for his team, showcasing his determination and loyalty.
Head Coach and General Manager, Lee Stone, spoke highly of Ewing, stating, “Grayden plays a hard, honest game and is a very complete 200-foot player. His willingness to do whatever it takes to win is exactly what we are looking for in a hockey player.” Stone also praised Ewing’s coaching background under Colten Hayes in High River, emphasizing his understanding of the little details of the game, which will be crucial in his transition to Junior A Hockey.
