Red Lake, ON – Red Lake Miners Head Coach and General Manager Lee Stone has announced the signing of 2005-born forward Noah Tenney for the 2023/24 Superior International Junior Hockey League season.
“Noah is a player that we have had high on our list all spring and summer. After watching and meeting with him and his family in Edmonton at the Western Elite Showcase we knew he’d be a great fit both on and off the ice in our program,” Stone said after signing Tenney. “First and foremost he is a great kid. Someone that raises the character in our room immensely. He consistently finds ways to make the players he plays with better in all areas of the ice. He isn’t afraid to get to the inside offensively, has a nose for the net and thinks the game incredibly well. We see Noah making an impact as an offensive threat right away,” Stone concluded.
Tenney, a native of Edmonton, AB, played last season with the Edmonton Jr Oilers u18 AAA squad tallying 11-15-26 in 38 games played. He also added another 1-1-2 in 2 playoff games.
“I believe there is a great program in Red Lake and I love the opportunities they have for development. I also get a good feeling from talking to Coach Stone and feel that he has the best interest for his players in mind,” Tenney said after signing with the Miners. “I want to help the Miners as much as I can and help bring the community an SIJHL Championship and a spot in the Centennial Cup. Long term I would like to play University or College Hockey somewhere,” he concluded.
The 6’0”, 165lbs forward is currently skating back at home and will be at Miners Main Camp in early September. Please welcome Noah to the Miners family!
