Red Lake, ON – The Red Lake Miners Hockey Club is pleased to announce the signing of defenseman Bryson Carlyle from the North Shore Warriors u18 team in the CSSHL’s prep division.
Carlyle is a dynamic player with impressive stats, having scored 5 goals and 14 assists for a total of 19 points in 33 games. Notably, Carlyle finished 1st on his team for points by a defender and 10th for points by a 2005 born defender in the entire CSSHL.
Carlyle stated, “I chose to sign in Red Lake because of my trust in Coach Stone’s track record of developing players and building teams that compete for Championships. The community support for the team was also a big factor in my decision! I’m excited to meet new teammates as well as people in the organization and community.”
As part of his long-term goal, Carlyle hopes to play hockey at the NCAA or USports level. In the short term, he aims to help the Miners win in any way possible and to develop as a player and person.
Carlyle enthusiastically added, “A successful season ends with the Bill Salonen Cup and earning the opportunity to compete at the Centennial Cup. I look forward to representing the Red Lake organization and community in a positive way.”
Head Coach and General Manager Lee Stone expressed his excitement about the new addition to the team, stating, “Bryson is a very good recruit for us, a player that had lots of interest throughout Canada and we are pleased he chose our program. We believe he has the ability to be an impact Defenseman as a first-year player. His point totals speak for themselves but he can also defend exceptionally. Welcome to the family, Bryson!”
