Miners Sign Forward Bryant Linklater

Red Lake, Ontario – The Red Lake Miners are pleased to announce the signing of 2006-born forward Bryant Linklater, who made his debut last night in Fort Frances. Originally committed to the Niverville Nighthawks of the MJHL, Linklater spent last season with the Notre Dame Hounds U18 AAA team, where he was a key contributor for his team.

Standing 6’0” and weighing 200 lbs, Linklater made an impact on the score sheet last season, playing in 38 regular season games for the Hounds and recording 10 goals and 5 assists.

“I did some research on the Miners organization and saw that they had been to the Centennial Cup recently,” said Linklater. “I wanted to be in a winning program that also focuses on development. Fans in Red Lake can expect to see a high-energy player who likes to muck it up.”

Linklater has set ambitious goals for his time with the Miners. “My short-term goals are winning the Bill Salonen Cup and going to the Centennial Cup in Calgary. My long-term goals are continuing to improve my hockey game and earning a scholarship to play college hockey,” he added.

Head Coach and General Manager Lee Stone expressed his enthusiasm about the new addition to the team. “Links brings size, physicality, and a high level of compete to our forward group. He will be instrumental for us in establishing our forecheck, wearing down other team’s defenders, and excelling on the penalty kill.”

Stone continued, “He is difficult to play against, and come March and April, that characteristic is critical to success. We think Links will be a key contributor within our group!”
