Miners Complete Blockbuster Trade

Red Lake, Ontario – The Red Lake Miners are pleased to announce the acquisition of 2006 born forwards Ryan Heuser and Kayne Pawlick from the Niverville Nighthawks in exchange for Aiden Corbett and future considerations.

Heuser comes to the Miners after a standout season with the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers U18 AAA team, where he played 38 games and recorded an impressive 20 goals and 18 assists for a total of 38 points. His 20 goals ranked him 10th in AEHL scoring, while his 38 points led the Rangers in scoring.

Heuser expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Miners, stating, “my short-term goal is to establish my name in the community. I enjoy helping out neighbors in any way I can. My long-term goals are to bring back a championship to Red Lake and contribute to my team in any way I can.”

He further added, “I’m pumped to be in Red Lake as it’s a beautiful town with a great community. The scenery is a lot nicer than the prairies! I’m excited to play for the Miners this year as it’s an awesome group of guys and a very competitive team surrounded by great coaches.”

Heuser also shared his inspiration in hockey, saying, “I model my game after Wendel Clark, as I love to score goals and set my line mates up. I can also be gritty while taking and giving hits, and throw the gloves if I need to.”

Pawlick comes to the Miners after a high scoring season with the Leduc Jr Oil Kings U18 AAA team, where he played 38 games and recorded 13 goals and 13 assists for a total of 26 points. In two seasons of AEHL U18 AAA Hockey, Pawlick scored 28 goals in 73 games.

Pawlick was clear on his goals with the Miners, stating, “my short-term goal is to win an SIJHL Championship and compete at the Centennial Cup. My long-term goal is to further my education while playing Hockey.”

Pawlick, who models his hame after Claude Giroux, continued to say, “I’m excited to get to Red Lake to meet all the guys and coaches who I will learn off of, and showcase myself to all the Red Lake fans!”

Head Coach and General Manager Lee Stone is equally enthusiastic about the new addition, stating, “Having both Ryan and Kayne chose our program over others is a huge compliment to the steps our organization has taken over the last year. Both players had wildly successful AEHL careers both at the U16 and U18 levels. We feel they will both come and immediately complement our offensive game. We are beyond thrilled to welcome both Ryan and Kayne to the family.”

The Red Lake Miners would like to extend their gratitude to Aiden Corbett for his two seasons with the organization. Aiden finishes his Miners career in 6th place all-time in team scoring with 101 points in 94 games. We wish Aiden the best of luck in his new journey with Niverville.
