Miners Comeback For OT Win

Despite trailing 2-0 after 20 minutes of play the Red Lake Miners battled back to pick up a 4-3 Ot win over the Kam River Fighting Walleye.

Kam River opened up the scoring on the PP courtesy of a Jack Cook power play marker at 2:03 of the first period. With 1 minute left on the scoreboard Daxton Lang would finish off a 2 on 1to give the Walleye a 2-0 lead heading into the first period.

The Miners would take the first intermission to regroup and would make it a 1 goal game just 10 seconds into the second period.Luke DeCorby scored his 11th of the season finishing off a quick passing play from Mason Mowat and Riley See.  Jacob Lamoureux would tie it up at 2 with his league leading at 8:10.  Matthew MacPherson would score his 10th at 14:53 to give the Miners a 3-2 lead which they would take into the second intermission.

Kam River would tie it up at 3 at 3:30 the Kyle Lamoureux’s point shot made it through for a second power play goal.  There would be no more scoring in regulation and this game would head to 3 on 3 overtime.

At 3:47 of the overtime period Dobie Unrau would beat Eric Vanska with a wrist shot and a 4-3 win.

Trent Boryszczuk stopped 43 shots to pick up his 4th win.
