Miners Announce Exhibition Games

Red Lake, Ontario – The Red Lake Miners unveiled their preseason schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season today. The team is set to participate in three exciting games, providing an excellent opportunity for fans and players alike to gear up for the highly anticipated regular season.

The preseason action kicks off on Thursday, September 5, as the Red Lake Miners take on the Fort Frances Lakers at 6:00pm. Hockey enthusiasts can catch the game at the Dryden Memorial Arena, where the Miners won their first round playoff series last season.

Continuing the preseason excitement, the Miners will play against the Sioux Lookout Bombers on Friday, September 6 at 6:00pm. The game will be held at the Sioux Lookout Memorial Arena.

Wrapping up the preseason schedule, the Red Lake Miners will face off against the rival Dryden Ice Dogs on Sunday, September 8. Puck drop is set for 4:00pm at the Dryden Memorial Arena, where fans can expect a roster that very closely resembles opening night.

Head Coach and General Manager, Lee Stone, expressed his excitement about the preseason games, stating, “We are pleased to be able to squeeze in three preseason games before the start of the regular season. This allows us to evaluate all the players attending our Main Camp in a preseason setting, setting the stage for the following week when the regular season kicks off.”
