McIntosh Set To Return With Miners

Red Lake, Ontario – The Red Lake Miners Hockey Club is excited to announce the return of 2003-born defenseman Gavin McIntosh to the team. McIntosh, a native of Sherwood Park, Alberta, previously played for the Miners during the 2022-23 season.

McIntosh is a veteran defenseman who brings a strong physical presence to the ice. He is known for his ability to shut down opposing forwards and make smart plays with the puck. Last season with the       Miners, he recorded 3 points in 13 games while also racking up 18 penalty minutes.

“We are very excited to announce Gavin as our first returning player,” said Head Coach and General Manager, Lee Stone. “He is a hard-working player who brings a lot of energy and intensity to our lineup. He plays a lot of very challenging minutes and is capable of playing against the other teams best players night in and night out.  He is a great teammate who will be a big part of our leadership group this       season. We know that he will help us be successful this season.”

McIntosh is equally excited to be returning to the Miners. “I am most looking forward to getting back on the ice with the team and to get back to the hockey grind,” he said. “I look forward to helping the team develop an identity and culture that will make us successful as a team and as individuals,  while           garnering the support of our community.” 

The Red Lake Miners Hockey Club are a member of the Superior International Junior Hockey League   (SIJHL). The team plays its home games at the Cochenour Arena in Red Lake, Ontario.
