Hiltermann moves to Adrian College

Red Lake, Ontario – The Red Lake Miners are thrilled to announce that defenseman Blake Hiltermann has committed to Adrian College ACHA D1 team for his collegiate hockey career. Hiltermann, the recipient of the SIJHL Dman of the Year award, showcased his exceptional skills throughout the season, tallying an impressive 42 points in 45 games played, including 14 goals and 28 assists.

Originally committed to the University of Central Oklahoma, Hiltermann’s decision to join Adrian College came after a coaching change at UCO. His discussions with Coach Gary from the very beginning of the recruiting process made it an effortless transition for him, solidifying Adrian College as the ideal place to continue his hockey journey.

In expressing his excitement about his commitment, Hiltermann stated, “Adrian is a winning culture from top to bottom. I wanted to go to a school where I’m going to be challenged both on the ice and in the classroom, and I believe Adrian College is the perfect spot to start my college journey!”

Reflecting on his time with the Red Lake Miners, Hiltermann emphasized the unforgettable experiences he had during his tenure. He expressed his gratitude to Coach Stone and the coaching staff for their exceptional guidance and development, which allowed him to excel in his game. Hiltermann also thanked his teammates for their support and for pushing him to reach new heights every day.

Head Coach and General Manager Lee Stone of the Red Lake Miners commended Hiltermann’s growth, both on and off the ice, during his time with the team. He expressed immense pride in being a part of Hiltermann’s journey and acknowledged the honor it is to have played a role in his transition to the next stage of his hockey career. “Blake developed greatly both on and off the ice in Red Lake and we are beyond proud he chose our program to finish his Junior career.  Being a small part in helping him move into the next stage of his Hockey career is an honour,” Stone said.

Regarding Adrian College, Stone highlighted Coach Gary Astalos’ exceptional coaching abilities and the program’s track record of success. He emphasized Adrian College’s commitment to developing players both academically and athletically, with a history of producing graduates and promoting players to the semi-professional level. “Adrian College is the perfect environment for Hilts to obtain his degree while continuing to excel in hockey,” Stone emphasized.
