Dryden’s Aubin named SIJHL – Play It Again Sports player of the week
THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Dryden GM Ice Dogs forward Braedyn Aubin has been named its Play It Again Sports player of the week for the period ending Jan. 22.
Aubin began his week with a goal and two assists as Dryden dropped the English River Miners 5-2 this past Tuesday at Cochenour Arena.
The 18-year-old native of Woodstock, Ont., then followed that up by scoring twice, including the game-winner, and doling out three helpers Friday for a career single-game-high five points as the GM Ice Dogs blasted the Miners 11-4 at Memorial Arena.
Currently sitting eighth overall in SIJHL offensive production, Aubin has 45 points in just 34 games for his club in 2016-17 notching 17 tallies and helping set-up 28 others. He’s also supplied four game-winning goals, which ties him for the league-lead in that department.
Also earning consideration for Play It Again Sports player of the week honours were the following:
