Dryden slams English River

DRYDEN, Ont. – The Dryden GM Ice Dogs got a combined nine points from the duo of Braedyn Aubin and Jacen Bracko as they went on to slam the English River Miners 11-4 Friday evening in a penalty-filled Superior International Junior Hockey League contest at Memorial Arena.

Dryden blew the game open early as they struck for seven first period goals to send them on their way.

Nic Noseworthy started the offensively barrage with a man advantage marker 62 seconds in.

After Bracko made it 2-0 midway through the frame, Breadyn Aubin added his 16th of the season 39 seconds later.

The GM Ice Dogs then tacked on four more in just over a five-minute span on efforts from Matt Leniuk, Aubin, Colton Sandboe and Kris Hamlin.

Bracko and Woody Galbraith extended the cushion for the home side in the middle stanza before Kaden Hintz got the Miners on the board at 19:35 of the session.

Hintz then added another early in the third on an English River power play.

Dryden’s Cory Dennis and the Miners’ Michael Di Lullo traded efforts later in the frame while Trey Palermo of the GM Ice Dogs and Jared Janke, during a man advantage for English River did likewise to round out the night’s scoring.

Ben Dennis faced 49 shots to pick up the win.

Spencer Eschyschyn and Michael Lenko both saw time in net for the Miners in a losing cause.
