On a cool Tuesday evening the Dryden GM Ice Dogs made the trek up the 105 to the Cochenour Arena to face of against the Red Lake Miners. Zack Willms would get the nod for the Miners between the pipes while Jordan Wilde started for the Ice Dogs.
Scoring didn’t take long in this one as just 52 seconds into the period Michael DiLullo scored his 5th of the season from Milne & Bohnet. This goal would move DiLullo to the top of the goals scored for the Miners franchise putting him just past Ryker Moreau and Alex Maticic. At 1:53 Connor Jacobs would pot his 1st goal as a Miner for a quick 2-0 lead.Jacob Siebenga would put one past Willms just 36 seconds later to quiet the crowd down. Stratton Picket would make it 3-1 at 4:16 scoring his 8th of the year. At 11:01 Bryce Young beat Wilde for his 11th of the season to make it 4-1 Miners. That would be it for first period scoring and after 20 Minutes of hockey the Red Lake Miners lead 4-1.
The second period started with another quick one as Bryce Young scored his 12th to make it 5-1. DiLullo’s 6th of the season at 2:37 mad it 6-1 and that would be it for Wilde’s night and Carson Murison would come in for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs. Murison wouldn’t get much help and Stratton Pickett’s 9th was followed by Keillan Toews second of the season for an 8-1 lead. After 40 minutes the Miners lead the Ice Dogs by a converted touchdown 8-1.
The early scoring continued as Bryce Young finished of his hat trick with a shorthanded goal at 1:18 to make it 9-1. Dryden would add 3 unanswered goals to make the final score Red Lake Miners 9 Dryden GM Ice Dogs 4. Zach Willms picked up his 5th Win of season stopping 26 shots.
The Goldcorp Red Lake Mines “Hard to Play Against” Hard Hat would go to Stratton Pickett who had 2 goals.
Kyle Uzelman was given the yellow “Mucker” of the game helmet.
