Bombers Blank Miners

Jake Manners stopped all 37 shots he faced to lead the Sioux Lookout Bombers to a 4-0 win over the Red Lake Miners and picked up his 16th win and league leading 3rd shutout in the process.

2 goals in 31 seconds gave the Bombers a 2-0 lead in the first period.  Connor Burke scored his 10th goal of the season at 17:08 that was followed by Lucas Trimarchi’s 11th at 17:39.

Bombers extended their lead in the second period when given a 5 on 3 power play after a Miners bench minor with one man all ready in the penalty box.  Nolan Palmer scored his 8th of the season on a one-timer from the point at 7:41.

Teagan Neuman scored his 8th of the season at 2:36 of the third period would extend the Bombers lead to 4-0.

Jake Manners kept the Miners off the scoreboard the rest of the way to preserve the win and pick up the shutout.

With the win the Bombers ended the Miners 5 game win steak and leapfrogged the Miners to get back into 3rd place in the SIJHL standings.
